Happy New Year in Lights

Every year, after Christmas, the Ithaca College towers on South Hill display the year in lights – and at midnight on New Years Eve, they magically change.  Here they are, before and after. (Disclaimer: these were each taken at about 8 PM – who wants to go outside at midnight?)

To make sure I’d be able to get decent shots, I went out on Thursday night… and ended up with this:

Oh no! Even though I was using a tripod, it was still shaky. The answer? A remote shutter control.
